About Orchard Preservations (proprietor: John Taylor-Bashford)

Since 1982 John Taylor-Bashford, who owns/manages Orchard Preservations, has been running a family building firm, Orchard Developments, covering Exeter and the south west.

Orchard Developments has carried out numerous new house builds, barn conversions, extensions, renovations and work for local authorities. This list does not include the many small works such as plumbing, electrical work, garden landscaping and many others.

During this time Orchard Developments found it difficult to obtain damp proofing and timber treatments from sub-contractors that met the exacting standards required by Orchard Developments and its customers. Because of this Orchard Developments has provided its own in-house treatments to customers for the past 17 years.

In the past few years Orchard Developments has seen an increase in the demand for preservation treatments. It was decided to create a separate stand-alone arm, Orchard Preservations, to cope with this demand.

What separates Orchard Preservations from the competition, apart from exacting standards, is that they are able to provide the complete treatment service from initial, fully qualified survey through to all remedial building works. It is not necessary to engage and manage several contractors on one job, as all the expertise can be provided in house.

There is no need to hire a treatment company, along with separate plumbers, electricians, carpenters and builders. This removes the risk of one contractor not delivering as or when expected.
